Women living in NV's upland areas receive livelihood aid from DAR

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Oct. 11 (PIA) - The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently gave livelihood assistance to the women sector in upland areas.

Jimmy Sampaga, special assistant to the PARO II said chicken cages, eggs, chickens and egg machines were given to women beneficiaries in barangay Kongkong in Kasibu, barangay Amballo in Bagabag town and barangay Binuangan in Dupax del Norte town.

"The beneficiaries were our Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) who are identified as women in crisis," he said.

Sampaga said the assistance is part of their "Egg Hatching Project" package through their "ARBOLD Project for ARB Women in Crisis" which intends to help ARB women and their families in cushioning the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The assistance will also empower them as frontliners in the food supply chain in the province.

"Now they can hopefully augment their household income during this pandemic. This will help ensure that our ARBs and their families are afloat especially during these critical times," he said.(MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
