Tagum DepEd schools celebrate World Teachers Day

DAVAO DEL NORTE, Oct. 6 (PIA) – Deparment of Education (DepEd) schools in Tagum City gathered at PTV DavNor Studio this morning to celebrate World Teachers Day.

Among the schools present in the event were La Filipina National High School, Tagum City National High School, and Tagum City Comprehensive High School.

The event was opened by a welcome remarks of Dr. Melanie P. Estacio, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent.

Teachers from various schools of DepEd Tagum Division showcased their individual talents during the event’s contest called “Teachers Got Talent”.

In a friendly competition, they also competed against each other in a contest called “TikTok Challenge Music Video” where videos of them dancing to music that went viral on TikTok were shown one after another.

In between the challenges, virtual messages of support were delivered by City Mayor Allan L. Rellon, Governor Edwin I. Jubahib, and Congressman Pantaleon Alvarez.

Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones, and Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez also gave a video message during the event.

For the inspirational message, Dr. Josephine Fadul, Schools Division Superintended was present in the event.

On top of the contests, a tribute to teachers was delivered by select students of the Supreme Student Government/Supreme Pupil Government (SSG/SPG).

As well, a raffle was held followed by the declaration of winners and awarding ceremonies.

The event was closed by the message of Elvira M. Postrero, President – Federation Faculty Club.
