Isabela PLGU distributes portable oxygen tank sets to 1,018 brgys

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, Oct. 17 (PIA) - The Provincial Government of Isabela has distributed portable oxygen tank sets to more than 1,000 barangays as one of its interventions in addressing the needs of patients with respiratory disease and of suspected COVID-19 patients.

Lawyer Elizabeth Binag, provincial information officer said the provision of portable oxygen tanks in all of the province’s barangays aims to save the lives of Isabeleños in times of emergency especially now that the deadly COVID -19 has claimed many lives in the country and the world.

The distribution of the portable 10-pound complete set oxygen tanks to the barangays started on October 5 and the remaining barangays of five municipalities and one city will receive their share soon according to Binag.

“The oxygen tanks will help the barangay health workers in assisting the COVID-19 patients in emergency situations during the transporting of patients to hospitals and isolation facilities,” Binag said.

Since the onset of COVID -19 pandemic  the Provincial Government of Isabela has been pro-active in preventing the spread of the disease among Isabeleños guided by the various resolutions of the National Inter - Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Disease.

Among the measures that are already in place are the imposition of mandatory wearing of face masks and face shields, strict boarder checkpoints, provision of quarantine facilities for returning Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) and Returning Overseas Filipino Workers (ROFs) Isabeleños, localized lockdowns in places with recorded COVID-19 positives and several other measures to ensure that the health and safety protocols are properly observed in the fight against COVID-19.
