Iguig mayor issues EO on cemetery visit sched during Undas

IGUIG, Cagayan, Oct. 7 (PIA) -  While cemeteries in Metro Manila and other parts of the country with high cases of COIOD – 19 are temporary close days before and during the undas, Iguig cemetery here will be open to the public on a per day schedule basis following strict minimum health standard.

Undas, though it’s has been a tradition for how many decades, the general welfare of the people should be the utmost priority, Mayor Ferdinand Trinidad  said promting him to issue Executive Order No. 024 series of 2020 on the schedule of visit at the cemetery from October 30 to November 3, 2020.

Trinidad said the scheduling of visit per barangay prevents crowd in the cemetery which is a measure to prevent the spread of the virus.

Under the EO,  the 23 baranagays are clustered into five such that on October 30, only residents of barangays Bayo, Sta. Teresa, Gammad, Atulu and Malabbac are allowed to visit the tomb of their dead releatives while barnagays of Redondo, Nattanzan, Ajat, Salamague and Dumpao are scheduled on October 31, 2020.

November 1 is scheduled for barangays of Garab, Santiago, Manaoag, Sta. Barbara and Campo and for November 2 are intended for barangays of Baculud, San Lorenzo, Minanga Sur and Norte, and. San Esteban.

Trinidad said the local police and other law enforcement agencies as well as barangay officials are enjoined to strictly implement the order.
